Open Music Collective

Summer Jazz Intensive

Faculty and Student Conerts

On Saturday, July 25, at 7:30pm, OMC’s SJI will be celebrating its six year with a jazz concert and reception at The Hooker-Dunham Theater on Main St. Brattleboro VT featuring special guests Mitch Seidman on guitar and Catherine Jensen-Hole on vocals. Also on the program will be Claire Arenius on drums, Carl Clements on woodwinds and Jamie MacDonald on bass.

During the summer intensive, students get to work intimately with teachers in ensemble, improvisation, instrument masterclass and impromptu style jazz jams. Everyone has a chance to immerse themselves for a few days into music with abilities, interests and musical backgrounds across the spectrum. The experienced teachers have a performance background ranging from Sheila Jordan, Charles Neville, to Charlie Haden, Bobby Bradford and Attila Zoller.
This year the student concert will be on Sunday, July 26 at 1pm also at the Hooker-Dunham Theater and feature 3 student groups.

Open Music Collective since 2009 has put on multitude of concerts and workshops, including 12 semesters of ensemble classes including Vocal, Jazz, Classical Guitar, kid’s composition, Rock Camps and Bluegrass.

Come celebrate and support the growth and continuation of these programs; witness some great music from some of the region’s top performers.

The faculty concert is open to the public with a $5-$20 suggested donation for the concert.
