Shoot The Moon Theater Company's first production of our 2017 season is "THE SONIC LIFE OF A GIANT TORTOISE". Written in 2014 by Japanese playwright Toshiki Okada, and translated by Aya Ogawa, this dramatic-comedy takes the audience on a phantasmal journey into ordinariness. The play which premiered in New York City in 2014 was praised by the New York Times as "a war on boredom." The play hearkens back to "WAITING FOR GODOT" and other absurdist classics. The writing is funny, unconventional, and brave. It has sublime insights into what it means to be alive in our modern age, and how to be a better human being.
Cast Members are Elias Burgess, Josh Goldstein, Colin Grube, Jennifer Moyse and Xoe Perra. Alistair Follansbee is the stage manager and Charlie Schneeweis provides original music. Poster art is by Ferenc Patkos. Joshua Moyse directs.
Performances are February 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 7:30pm at Hooker-Dunham Theater & Gallery, which is located at 139 Main Street, Brattleboro. For reservations please call 802.254.9276.
